When we bought our home I had grandiose ideas about our living room, but I was brought back to reality when I started seeing the costs. I quickly decided I needed incorporate some high ticket items with affordable items. One area that was easy to cut costs was because they can cost an arm and a leg was the curtains. I had always seen DIY drop cloth curtains on Pinterest.
Tools needed:
- Drop Cloths
- Iron
- Ironing board
- Scissors
- Drapery Rings
Steps:
- Wash your drop cloths – normal cycle (you do not have to do this step but they smell like home improvement store). Turn on your iron highest setting lots of steam
2. Fold the drop cloth in half – iron all the way down
3. Fold top layer in half on the front – then fold back layer in half as well. Iron all the way down
I have a really great iron – I only needed to iron one side down. You may need to do both sides if your iron doesn’t steam enough
Fold the front end back in half and do the same with the back piece. Then iron all the way down. Once competed you are ready to hang!
4. Attach your drapery rings – One on each end. One in the middle then two in between each ring. Accordion together and hang on your favorite curtain rod. I folded the top behind to achieve desired length
